My Story

Founded by Nora Smyth, Join the Constellation is the culmination of my journey to elevate mental health care and build intentional community. As a clinician, my heart is in providing warm, authentic clinical supervision and transformative CEU training for practitioners looking to deepen their practice. My passion for systemic advocacy also led me to create the FLIRT advocacy shop—a space where self-care meets social action to support domestic violence awareness and survivor organizations.
I owe the clinician I am, the mother I am to my daughter, and my ability to give back to the community to the unwavering support of my parents. They are my ultimate anchor, and honestly, my absolute favorite love story. They met in New Zealand while both traveling the world, got engaged, and then spent months apart writing letters and talking on the phone while my dad finished his travels. They married six months later and remain deeply happy and in love to this day.
While you'll see a picture featured here of my wonderful mom and best friend—who, fun fact, was actually voted Ms. Sweetheart in high school!—our deep bond goes back generations. Through her passion for genealogy, we became certified members of the American-French Genealogical Society, tracing our lineage directly to two fiercely brave ancestral matriarchs.
We are the proud descendants of Marguerite Maddeleine Morisseau, a Fille à Marier who emigrated from France to New France in 1661 promised absolutely nothing but the raw possibility of a better life—and she took it. We are also descendants of Barbe Ménard, a Fille du Roi who arrived in 1669. These women endured terrifying transatlantic voyages and the brutal, freezing wilderness of a new world, acting as the fundamental pillars that built the very population and survival of their colony. It is that exact collective love, fierce grit, and unbreakable resilience—passed down from the women who came before us—that fuels my capacity to build this constellation of support for others today.
Voted Ms. Sweetheart in high school, my mom is actually that, everyone that knows her loves her, because she is the sweetest woman I know.

I promise my supervision style is less chaotic than my gingerbread skills.

Yes, I made this Forky! And honestly, he is the perfect mascot for social work. He’s made of random pieces, he looks a little overwhelmed, but he is doing his absolute best.

In my supervision practice at Join the Constellation, I will help you take all your pieces—the theories, the stress, the passion—and shape them into a confident career. We embrace the messy.

Standing, at the open door of a plane, is terrifying. But it taught me a lot about leaning into fear and trusting your preparation. Honestly, clinical social work often feels like a daily leap of faith. We step into heavy, unpredictable client situations, and the high-stakes pressure can feel overwhelming.

You should never have to navigate those intense moments in isolation. In my supervision practice, I act as your sounding board and guide. I provide the clinical framing, honest feedback, and steady backing you need so you can trust your own judgment and handle the toughest parts of social work with absolute confidence.

My daughter actually posed for this photo while exploring France on a school trip. Beyond being a beautiful memory, I love the image because her backbend forms a perfect architectural arch. In nature, the arch is the strongest shape to support a heavy load because it distributes weight evenly.

As social workers, our professional caseloads can feel incredibly heavy. The waves of hard cases just keep coming. My goal in supervision is to help you build that same kind of flexible strength. Together, we will create a rock-solid foundation based in self care. That way, you can hold up under the pressure of this career, protect your peace, and still have plenty of energy left for the things you love at home.

  • Leo is my certified emotional support cat who is pure sweetness and endless cuddles

  • Jupiter is our resident spicy and sassy queen who rules the house & is Leo’s sister

  • Mila is our newest addition and baby in the home, a playful Calico who keeps life full of energy.

In the world of social work, we talk a lot about the importance of downtime and co-regulation. Heading home to this crew is my ultimate reset button.

Their cozy, sleepy vibes are what inspired my Self Care Affair Mug, Self Care Flare Candle and Self Care Wear Sweaters in our online store.

They are a daily reminder to take an intentional break, cozy up, find your comfort, and fiercely protect your peace.
